Watercolor
Sarah’s first love is watercolor. In all her paintings she strives to find balance in composition and engagement through color. She finds that watercolor provides the best accidents. Sarah thrives in the playful game of capturing detail with the unpredictability of the water medium.
For subject matter Sarah has turned to the everyday, mundane and nostalgic. She is drawn to capturing places and things that have built up emotional resonance over time. Her paintings seek transcendence in the familiar: an old family car, an annual vacation spot or common plants growing in her yard and neighborhood.
